Newcastle United ready to pay big for Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati

English Premier League club Newcastle United are interested to splash cash on Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati. After spending some time in the academy of Sevilla, Ansu Fati joined the youth setup of FC Barcelona.

The forward then soon rose through the ranks and signed his first professional contract with Barcelona even before playing a single match for the reserve team. Fati then became the second youngest Barcelona player to make his senior debut. In the next match, the forward scored his first goal making him the youngest-ever goalscorer for Barcelona.

He then became the youngest-ever goalscorer in the history of the Champions League. Fati was showing huge growth and everything was going in the right direction. However, when he suffered a knee injury in the 2020-21 season, his development took a huge hit.

Now a report from El Nacional suggests that English Premier League club Newcastle are interested to sign the forward from Barcelona.

Since their recent takeover, Newcastle possess enough monetary power to buy any player whom they want. They currently aim to become one of the best clubs in the world.

They have recently signed players like Kieran Trippier and Alexander Isak to bolster their squad. But they want to sign more talented players and Fati has risen as one of the big names on that list.

After the injury, Ansu Fati has hugely struggled in the last few months. The forward has lost his place in the Spanish team and is not even a starter at Barcelona.

And according to the reports, he is not happy with his limited game time. Now Barcelona see him as a very integral part of their future project. They know the potential Fati has and if are not taking any risk with the forward.

But their financial condition has worsened in the last few years. So if the forward intends to leave the club, they would listen to offers. And Reports suggest Newcastle are interested to spend €80 million which is probably going to be enough to secure the service of the Spanish international.

However, before that, they will have to convince the youngster enough. Barcelona though will also try to keep him at the club.

What’s next?

Barcelona have got a decent start to their la Liga campaign. The Blaugrana hear gathered twenty-two points from their first nine matches. They suffered their first loss of this season’s league last Sunday against arch-rival Real Madrid. The Catalans will now hope to return back to winning ways when they play Villarreal in their next match.
