Newcastle United Transfer News: Newcastle Does Not Want To Pay £60M For Moussa Diaby

Newcastle United Transfer News: Bayer Leverkusen thinks that French winger Moussa Diaby is worth £60 million. Reports say that Newcastle United is not willing to match that price

Newcastle United Transfer News: Daily Telegraph says that Newcastle United is not ready to pay Bayer Leverkusen and French forward Moussa Diaby’s £60 million price tag this summer. But the club’s leaders have made it clear that they won’t give up on their most important offensive goal, even though they are frustrated by the lack of progress.

The report also says that the Bundesliga team won’t accept any offer of less than £60 million. So talks between the two clubs have come to a halt. This comes after rumours spread that Newcastle has done a lot of research on Diaby and is willing to break its transfer record to bring him to St. James’ Park.

Newcastle United Transfer News: Newcastle United’s interest in Moussa Diaby

When they bought Joelinton from another German team, Hoffenheim, for £40 million, Newcastle set a new record for the most money spent on a transfer.

Even though they are willing to break that, they would still need Bayer Leverkusen to lower what they want for the French player because the two teams’ values are so different.

Newcastle has already made three permanent signings this summer. But none of them are the big-name attackers that fans want. Eddie Howe also wants to add more firepower to his team.

Callum Wilson scored the most Premier League goals for the club, even though he missed almost half the season due to injury. And Howe knows that the Magpies need to score more goals in the last third if they want to push for a spot in Europe.

Hugo Ekitike’s agent made it impossible to sign him, so the move for Bayer Leverkusen forward Diaby has become the main target.

But Diaby’s current team, Bayer Leverkusen, has put a price tag of £60 million on him. This seems to have stopped several clubs from trying to sign him, including Newcastle, at least for now. The Magpies don’t want to spend that much on a single player until they can make more money from lucrative sponsorship deals.

From Die Werkself’s point of view, it’s easy to see why they don’t want to lose one of their most valuable assets before the 2022/23 season. They want to build on their third-place finish and their return to the UEFA Champions League. So, it makes sense that they don’t want to lose one of their best players.

The Future of Moussa Diaby:

Diaby, who is seen as one of the best up-and-coming players in the Bundesliga, was a big part of that. In 42 games across all competitions, he scored 17 goals and set up 14 others. This caught the attention of ambitious clubs like Newcastle United and the 22-year-old youth team, Paris Saint-Germain.

Also, the player is probably not going to try to leave right now because he wants to play in the Champions League. Newcastle hasn’t given up on signing the French international. But they have been linked to Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea and Anthony Gordon from Everton, which shows that they are looking for other options.

Newcastle worked hard and got long-term defensive target Sven Botman from Lille earlier in the window. It looks like they are going down a similar path to find Diaby. But whether their hard work will pay off remains to be seen.
