Real Sociedad Transfer news: Real Sociedad have reached a full agreement with Almeria to sign the Nigerian international Umar Sadiq. The Super Eagles forward will soon undergo medical and join the Basque side permanently.
A former member of Spezia youth setup, Umar Sadiq plied his trade for many Italian clubs such as AS Roma, Bologna, Torino, etc. He was also a member of the Nigerian Olympics squad that won bronze in Rio.
However, he finally got his breakthrough when he signed for Spanish club UD Almeria. Since he arrived at the club, he has already scored forty-three goals and played a pivotal role in Almeria’s promotion to La Liga.
Sadiq has started the season in a fantastic manner. He has already netted two goals in three La Liga matches including a winner against Sevilla in the last match. Many notable clubs, such as Villareal, were already keeping their eyes on the Nigerian goal machine.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Umar Sadiq is all set to undergo medical tests as La Real player within the next few hours.
Real Sociedad has already got a full agreement with Ud Almeria for a deal that’s worth €25 million including add-ons. Almeria will also keep 15% of a future sale.
With the transfer deadline being 1st September, Real Sociedad is right in a hurry to complete the deal.
Earlier another Spanish side Villarreal also had a very keen interest in him. However, the move didn’t materialise.
Isak’s replacement?
Real Sociedad recently sold their talismanic forward Alexander Isak for a record fee of €65 million. This has left a big void in their forward position.
La Real soon signed Norweigan international Alexander Sørloth from RB Leipzig on a loan. However, Sociedad was still in the market for another forward and Sadiq fits the deal perfectly.
