SA VS IND LIVE: India has already lost the first 02 matches of the ODI series. Moreover, with only one match remaining, India was looking for a consolation win on Sunday. Sadly, that could not happen and after several years India has faced whitewash overseas.
The third ODI took place in Cape Town. India made several changes to the side and allowed those who were warming the bench. Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Chahar, Jayant Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna were the new add-ons to the side.
KL Rahul-led Indian team was keen to win this final ODI. Winning the toss, India opted to bowl first. Although the bowlers took India to a good start (70 for the loss of 03 wickets), De Kock and Dussen stole the show.
Each of them scored a century and half-century respectively to push India to the backfoot. However, Indian bowlers made a strong comeback towards the death overs and took the last 07 wickets in just 73 runs. As a result, South Africa managed to score 287 runs in total.

Chasing down a total of 288 in a crucial match against South Africa is never easy. The batsmen were well aware of the same too. Therefore, after the easy wicket of KL Rahul way too early in the innings, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli decided to take matters into their own hands.
The duo amassed almost 100 runs for the second wicket partnership before Dhawan fell prey to Phehlukwayo. This was a huge blow for India as Dhawan was looking dangerous with the bat. Dhawan returned to the pavilion with 61 runs off 73 deliveries.
Seeing the flow of runs, Rishabh Pant got promoted up the order. However, the adverse results happened instead. Pant decided to open the mark with a fancy shot. In Phehlukwayo’s last delivery, he marched down the ground and makes a big swing with the bat. He looked to go over extra cover but gets it off the outside half, into the hands of Magala.

SA VS IND LIVE: Virat Kohli gave a deep stare to Rishabh Pant for playing such a reckless shot in the very first delivery. It is strange to imagine how can a batsman approach in such a fashion while chasing down such a mammoth total.
Coach Rahul Dravid, other players as well as the entire cricket fraternity could not realize the credibility of the shot. Fans also took to Twitter to share their responses to such an innings from Rishabh Pant.
