Juventus is exploring ways to offer Mattia De Sciglio in a swap deal for Palmieri Emerson.
Juventus is leading the Serie A standings with sixty-two ahead of second-placed Lazio. Yet, Maurizio Sarri is looking forward to the summer transfer window. The Serie A giants are mulling over a swap deal for the Chelsea defender Palmieri Emerson this week.
Italian journalist Romeo Agresti has stated about the plans of Serie A leaders as Juventus eye a move for out of favor Emerson Palmieri. The 25-year-old has been a part of transfer speculations since January. Even this season Juventus want Emerson to return to his homeland following his fall off in the pecking order under Frank Lampard.
Emerson’s downfall under Frank Lampard
On the other hand, the Italian defender has recently expressed his willingness to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of this season. Emerson’s playtime has been limited to just 18 appearances under Frank Lampard this season. As the defender is not part of Lampard’s future plans his stay at Stamford Bridge is in doubt. There are also reports about the signing of a new left-back this summer.
Lampard seems to have lost the hopes on the left-back in this whole time period. Cesar Azpilicueta played instead of Emerson at times. Prior to the suspension of football, he was excluded from four of the five Premier League fixtures. Hence it can be predicted Emerson would be axed if a suitable swap deal is offered.
With so much of a financial crisis hitting the revenues around the globe football is also facing its impact. The clubs are left with a minimum budget for this season and have to look more towards the exchange deals. Juventus has a swap deal on the cards and this time may be the right one.
Sarri Eyeing A Reunion
Journalist Agresti, also claimed that former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is keenly eyeing a reunion with the talented Emerson at Turin. A deal worth alluring is on the way that would aid in landing the Italian this term.
Agresti’s statement from Juventus: “Juventus will have on offer this week for Emerson Palmieri and there will be several players at stake.”
He also mentioned, it is Mattia De Sciglio that Juventus is looking to offer as part of a swap deal for Emerson. Though Chelsea was never interested in the 27-year-old. According to Calciomercato, the paper edition of Tuttosport Chelsea has given a price tag of €30 for their Italian defender.
De Sciglio has played mostly as a second option to Alex Sandro this season. Being a left-back he can also deploy as a right back. Emerson at Chelsea is also going through the same situation. The defeat against Arsenal in January was his last appearance for the Blues.
Juventus also has a loan option in hand if the swap deal doesn’t work. However, Blues have a handful of options in the left-back, and giving away Emerson would not shake them. As for Juventus, the Italian left-back would give good competition to Alex Sandro.
