T20 Blast 2022: Surrey were facing off against Yorkshire in the Vitality Blast match. Moreover, the match was being played at the Kennington Oval in London, England.
Surrey went on to win the toss and they decided to have a bowl first. Yorkshire were off to a bad start as they lost two wickets for nine runs. Finn Allen was dismissed for three runs while Adam Lyth got out for a golden duck.
But Yorkshire had a brilliant third wicket partnership of 93 runs. As a result of that, Yorkshire managed to put up 160 runs with a loss of five wickets in the twenty overs against Surrey.
Surrey too had a patchy start, they proceeded the innings very slowly. As a result of that, they fell short of just one run. And Yorkshire managed a thrilling win against Surrey.

Jordan Thompson after the win said, “When it’s your night, it’s your night, and we did absolutely fantastic to defend 160. By my standards, in the last few games, I haven’t been great with the ball.
But I got it right this time and to stand up in a big moment like that was great. Hopefully, next Saturday (Finals Day at Edgbaston on July 16) is our day as well.”

The match ball in the Surrey vs Yorkshire game arrived in a unique manner. The organisers went on to send the match ball on a remote controlled car which delivered the ball to the on field umpire.
It was a new way to bring the match ball to the on field umpire. Moreover, the crowd was surprised as much as the commentators were looking at the mini remote controlled car.
