Joao Santos got a brilliant business mind. He knows this is the perfect time to seize a deal for his player. Italian midfielder Jorginho’s agent reportedly linked to the Chelsea management seeking a contract extension for the player.
According to Metro, the discussions are ‘ON’ between Joao Santos and Marina Granovskaia in London. The player won the Champions League with Chelsea last year and had a decent finish in the Premier League.
The arrival of Thomas Tuchel helped the player to find more reputation in the squad. He was the important engine in the midfield for Tuchel and had a good link-up with N’Golo Kante. His Chelsea contract expires in the summer of 2023.
Meanwhile, the player is shining in the Euro 2020 for Italy. He is the showrunner for Roberto Mancini in the campaign as he featured all games of the tournament for his national side. Italy advanced to the finals on Sunday at Wembley after beating Spain on penalties. Jorginho scored the winning kick and got a huge round of applause among fans.
Although, Stamford Bridge also cherished the performance of the player. But, the player’s agent finds it the right time for talks. The 29-year-old is on transfer talks as major sides of Europe targeted the player for the summer transfer window.
Keeping that in mind, Chelsea should act as per the situation to tie the player for a couple of seasons. Because Tuchel is focussing on the domestic fight and Jorginho is an important weapon for him.

“Today, Jorginho’s valuation is around £42.8 million. If a team arrives… obviously he has made it to many finals,’ but our first thought is to speak to Marina Granovskaia about the renewal. This is certainly a very important moment in his career, he has been waiting for it for 20 years,” Santos told Radio Marte.
Although, the final on Sunday may be a crucial one for Jorginho. The transfer talks will fire up after that for sure, no matter who wins.
Meanwhile, the ex-boss of the Blues, Maurizio Sarri, is monitoring the player. He nominated the player last day for the Ballon d’Or. According to him, the player is at the peak of his career.
“He is a refined player, probably not understood by everyone. You have to set your eyes on him and only watch him in the game. He is so good and intelligent that he makes everything seem easy, rarely anything spectacular remains in your eyes. This is its greatness,” Sarri said.
The Italian head coach is taking care of Lazio in Serie A. There were rumors that Sarri is interested in a reunion with Jorginho if he will be available on the summer transfer window.
Although Chelsea got detailed work to do in Jorginho’s case after the Euro 2020. The Blues have to work on the negotiations with Santos to keep the player for the future and real business is happening at West London.
