The Premier League Gameweek 5 along with the FPL game week is upon us. Due to a tight schedule and winter break for the World Cup. The Premier League and FPL are set to have their first mid-week game week. Mid-week means we have a game week in just 48 hours after the previous game week was concluded.
FPL Gameweek 4 was a successful week for many, with a season-high 62 points scored on average. Nevertheless, Mohamed Salah will be the major source of annoyance. It’s hard to imagine that after Liverpool defeated Bournemouth with nine goals, the midfielder contributed a whopping three points.

In the last FPL gameweek, we had some surprise performances like Roberto Firmino who had his highest EPL points tally. Firmino gave 22 points last gameweek. Now coming into this FPL gameweek we have midweek fixtures.
With FPL Gameweek 5 in midweek let’s look at who FPL managers should pick as their FPL Captain pick.
FPL Captain Pick for Gameweek 5
1. Haaland (Manchester City)
Haaland will be the first pick for every FPL manager for their captain pick. He’s the only player in the game to deliver an attacking return in each of the opening four gameweeks. He is the best player in the FPL so far. He has scored 6 goals and 1 assist in 4 games in the Premier League so far.
But one big concern with this being midweek will be the Pep rotation policy. Pep has already said openly that Haaland won’t play every game of the season. But then again Manchester City has an easy fixture Haaland can have an impact coming on from the bench too.
With Manchester Playing Nottingham Forest this midweek we expect Haaland to score and assist. He will be an ideal candidate as their Captain pick for FPL managers this mid-week in FPL.
2. Martin Odegaard (Arsenal)
The Arsenal captain has been the most in-form player for the past 2 game weeks. Odegard has been the most influential player for the Gunners. He has been the creator as well as the goal scorer for Arsenal. In the last 2 games in the Premier League Odegaard has managed to score 3 goals and has been in double digits points-wise.
With Gunners facing struggling Aston Villa this midweek we expect Odegaard to have another stellar FPL gameweek and managers can bank on him and can pick him as their captain.
3. Salah ( Liverpool)
Many FPL managers were disappointed last game week as Salah went blank. To make matters worse Liverpool scored 9 goals against Bournemouth yet Salah had no role to play in any of those goals.
After that disappointing gameweek last weekend. Salah will be eager to prove a point and with Liverpool facing Newcastle United this week at Anfield. Salah has a perfect chance to redeem himself.
With Newcastle not having a great record at Anfield, we expect Salah to be in double-digit points once again in FPL. So FPL managers can go ahead and captain Salah this upcoming Gamweek.
