Tottenham Hotspur sealed a 2-0 victory against struggling Everton on Saturday, as they maintain the third spot in the League table. Two Second-half goals by Harry Kane and Hojbjerg sealed Spurs to maintain a 10th consecutive home victory.
Everton has now gone down to the 14th in the League table with two straight defeats. The Toffees kept the hosts under pressure in the first half.
The game was also hard for Richarlison, as the forward suffered a calf injury which may suspect his World Cup chances.
Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane has hit his 400th appearance mark with his 258th club goal.
Line-Ups of Both Clubs
Antonio Conte still introduced the same 5-2-3 formation with Kane, Son, and Richalison as the front three. Dejan Kuluvesky is still missing out on the game with his injury from the international break. Bissouma also started from the bench.
Frank Lampard set his team up with a 5-3-2 formation where Maupay and Gray were leading up-front with two strikers. Calvert-Lewin has returned from his injury and came as a substitute.

In the first-half Gray missed an early chance by shooting the ball on the top of the bar in the 23rd minute of the game. In the 31st minute, Kane was not able to shoot because of a heroic effort from Pickford.
A mistake from Hojbjerg almost gave Everton a goal just two minutes before the half-time whistle. Just before halftime, Richarlison misses a good chance against his former club.
But in the second half, the game came in favour of Tottenham Hotspur when Pickford fouled on Kane. The England captain did not miss the spot kick which helped them to lead the scoreline. Hojbjerg scored the final goal of the game in the 86th minute with a brilliant long pass from his midfield partner Bentancur.
The game was brilliant for Antonio Conte’s men, but they will have to travel to Old Trafford without Richarlison.
Spurs dominated the field with 61% of possession, whereas Everton relied their attack on counter-attacking football. The Spurs were very strong defensively, as Everton had 4 shots with no shots on target. The North London also dominated the attack with 21 shots but only 7 shots on target.
Post-match Interview
During the post-match interview, Conte spoke seemed concerned about Richarlison’s injury. Conte was delighted with the fan support.
He spoke: “When you play and have an unbelievable atmosphere and they sing our names and make us proud about it, they give us a lot of push to give more and more for this club.” He also praised how intensely his players played the game.
Harry Kane also talked to Sky Sports about his goal: “He made a couple of good saves and I snuck the penalty past him. Happy to get on the scoresheet again; it has been a tough week with loads of game”.
Lampard on the other hand is not happy with his team’s finishing. On some missed golden chances, he spoke: “If we took one of those, we probably don’t lose the game”.
