In the latest Chelsea injury news, Albania manager Sylvinho has explained why Armando Broja returned early to the Blues.
Chelsea striker Armando Broja missed the entirety of the second half of last season due to an ACL injury. Broja suffered the injury in December last year and remained out of action until September this year.
Armando Broja returned to action in September, coming off the bench as a substitute in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League. After making another appearance off the bench in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Brighton in the FA Cup, Broja made it to the starting XI in Chelsea’s next two fixtures in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old also scored in one of those – in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fulham. He was called up to the Albania national football team during the October international break but missed the games against the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.

Albania manager Sylvinho has now explained why Armando Broja missed both fixtures, in the latest Chelsea injury news.
“What happened to Broja is very simple, it arose from a serious injury, he had been out for nine months,” Sylvinho said. “He came back a few weeks ago, he played a few minutes in the first match, the same in the second. Then, one match before coming to us, he played 45 minutes and was replaced due to some physical problems.

“Normally he had a check-up at Chelsea before coming to us, the checks had gone well. When he came here, he trained, but he still had a bit of concern: we sat down and spoke to the doctor, and we were in constant contact with Chelsea to find out about his injury.
“It was clear that he wasn’t he could play and together with the club and the player, we agreed that he would return to Chelsea and begin his recovery. That’s the whole story.“
While it is not welcome Chelsea injury news, the Blues will be glad the striker has not picked up a new injury.
Meanwhile, Chelsea will take on London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League in their first game after the October international break. Chelsea, who have won their last three fixtures, will be aiming to maintain the momentum and get the better of Arsenal, who remain unbeaten in the Premier League this season.
