In the latest Arsenal news, the Gunners are interested in Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins as they look to sign a striker in the upcoming January transfer window.
Arsenal have got off to a fantastic start in the 23/24 campaign. Mikel Arteta and co. remain unbeaten in the Premier League and sit second in the points table. With 20 points from eight matches, Arsenal are also tied on points with table-toppers Tottenham Hotspur.
In the Champions League, Arsenal have a win and a defeat in two games so far in the current campaign. In the EFL Cup, Arsenal are through to the round of 16 after defeating Brentford in the third round.
However, despite the good start, there have been suggestions that Arsenal need to sign a striker to bolster their attacking department. Mikel Arteta’s team currently have Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah as centre-forwards but some have urged them to sign a striker far more clinical in front of the goal than the aforementioned two.

Seven of those goals and four of those assists have come in the 13 matches he has so far played for Aston Villa in the current campaign.
Fichajes reports that the opportunity to sign for Arsenal presents an attractive option for Ollie Watkins. However, it will not be easy for Arsenal to prize the England international away from Aston Villa
Ollie Watkins signed a new contract with Aston Villa earlier this month. His current contract with the Premier League side runs until 2028. That means Villa would not be under much pressure to sell the player even if Arsenal are interested in him.
Ollie Watkins would also most certainly not come on the cheap, and Arsenal will likely have to spend a figure in the north of his current market valuation. According to Transfermarkt, his current market valuation stands at €55m.
