In the latest Manchester United takeover news, Fabrizio Romano reports that Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani’s decision to pull out of the race to buy the club from Glazers is ‘100% guaranteed and confirmed’.
Manchester United announced in November last year that their Board were commencing a process to explore all strategic alternatives, including a sale of the club.
Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe then emerged as the frontrunners in the Manchester United takeover process.
Manchester United are currently valued at $3.2bn (£2.63bn), and Sheikh Jassim’s final offer was almost double that amount. But the Glazer family, owners of Manchester United, valued the Premier League club at an amount higher than Sheikh Jassim’s offer.
Manchester United takeover news: Sheikh Jassim’s decision to pull out of race ‘confirmed’
It emerged last week that, in the latest Manchester United takeover news, Sheikh Jassim has withdrawn from the process to buy the Premier League side after viewing the Glazer’s valuation of the club as ‘highly unrealistic‘.
Fabrizio Romano has now reported that Sheikh Jassim’s decision to pull out of the race is ‘100% guaranteed and confirmed’.
“Sources close to Sheikh Jassim guarantee that his decision to leave the negotiations for Man United is 100% guaranteed and confirmed. No current plans to change that,” Fabrizio Romano wrote on Twitter. “Glazers family, already informed last week after the final bid was rejected.”
Meanwhile, in another Manchester United takeover news, the club’s board members are set to vote on Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s bid to buy a 25% stake in the club.
