In a welcome Arsenal injury update, their midfielder Thomas Partey played over an hour in Ghana’s defeat at the hands of the USA in a friendly match.
Thomas Partey missed six games for Arsenal due to a groin injury earlier this season. He recently returned to action, coming off the bench in their 1-0 win over Manchester City in the Premier League earlier this month.
However, Arsenal were handed an injury concern when Thomas Partey was replaced at half-time in Ghana’s 2-0 defeat to Mexico last weekend. It was not clear whether it was a tactical decision or whether it had anything to do with the player’s fitness.
However, Ghana manager Chris Sutton later said it was a planned decision. “Thomas was always only going to play 45 minutes,” Sutton said. “He has been out injured for three to four weeks, he came back for Arsenal last midweek, was on the subs bench for one game, and played 20 minutes for the next game. So we knew he was only going to play 45 minutes.“

In a more encouraging Arsenal injury update, Thomas Partey played until the 64th minute for Ghana against the USA. Partey made it to the starting XI in the game, which Ghana lost 4-0. The USA scored all four goals inside the first 39 minutes.
The game time Thomas Partey has received during the October international break will be encouraging news for Arsenal and their manager Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners have made a fantastic start to the Premier League 23/24 campaign. They are one of the only two teams who remain unbeaten in the English top-flight so far this season.
