Arsenal is perhaps one of the widely trolled clubs in the entire English Premier League due to many reasons, especially thanks to their current boss Arsene Wenger and his dry spells as far as winning a trophy is concerned. In fact, nobody shies from taking a dig at him – from the fans to the critics – and even Jose Mourinho has made it known that Wenger isn’t one of his favourites, calling him the “Specialist of Failure” already.
The Gunners fans, however, are also widely known for saying either one or all of the following lines, when they either get cornered or have nothing else to say!
- We will surely win the league this season!
The last time Arsenal won the league, everybody was busy watching Pokemon and wishing they could actually go out and catch ‘em all. It is 2016 and we are not close to flying cars yet, Pokemon Go has made that wish a reality, at least. Maybe we’ll have the flying cars before Arsenal win the next trophy…
- London is red
According to Arsenal fans, there is just one club that exists in north London and even London itself. Chelsea, Spurs, West Ham, Crystal Palace don’t exist right? I mean like according to the club’s faithful, “Who are they”??
- Wenger > Mou
For most Arsenal fans, Arsene Wenger is akin to Jesus Christ. However, even if you take aside the trophy-winning capabilities, it’s no secret that Mourinho is a more dynamic manager than Wenger and has proved himself to be a better manager in every aspect already.
- Spurs are shit
Football rivalries are common, but nothing bests the Arsenal-Tottenham rivalry. In fact, the above image? Made by an Arsenal fan, no doubt. Many Spurs fans claim that COYG used by the Gunners are a rip-off from their famous COYS chant, while Arsenal fans claim the exact opposite. Aside from this, their derbies often turn out to be the most exciting.
Even last term, it went down to the final day of the league season, to determine which club would finish above the other. The Gunners had a moral win as they finished above Spurs. Maybe it’s time to remind them once again that a “second place finish” is no title.
